Who's Counting?

How many stitches have I knit since if first sat down with my Grandma at the age of 9 to learn to knit? I can count the number of "mistakes" in my shawl; the places where I slipped on stitches rather than knitting them on to the front of the stitch. But count the number of stitches in the shawl? Never! I'd stop knitting. Counting the rows would be formidable. Counting the projects is even difficult. I can't remember how many things I've given away.

I've started telling people I'm "a knitter" when they ask me what I do. I spend as much time or more knitting than anything else. Knitting is my life solace. There are many things about my life that are reflective, but "non-productive". In knitting I've found an avocation that produces incredible, beautiful, useful works of art as the result of my labors. Over a far shorter term that child raising I might add.

It's time to dust off the camera and remember my HTML to see what I can make of this post. You're welcome to browse and come back regularly. Who knows what you will find!
